Betting guide
Start with the simple bets if you want one runner. Move into exotics when you want to predict the finishing order, or multi-race products when you want to link winners across a meeting.
Pick one runner to win the race. The price you accept is locked into the bet, even if the market moves later.
How it works
Example
You stake K10 at 3.20. If the runner wins, the return is worked out from K10 x 3.20.
Pick one runner to finish inside the paid places. It is easier to hit than Win, but the price is normally lower.
How it works
Example
In an 8-runner race, your Place bet can win if your runner finishes 1st, 2nd or 3rd.
Place terms are based on the final valid starter count after scratches and voids.
Each Way is two bets on the same runner: one Win bet and one Place bet. The stake shown is per side.
How it works
Example
You take K10 Each Way and the runner finishes 2nd. The Win side loses; the Place side is settled at the Place price.
A void or refund applies to both sides when the race or runner is voided.
Pick the first two finishers. The order does not matter, so this is useful when you like two runners but are not sure which one wins.
How it works
Example
You pick 3 and 7. It wins if the official top two are 3-7 or 7-3.
Pick 1st and 2nd in the exact order. The right two runners in the wrong order do not win.
How it works
Example
A 4-8 Exacta needs runner 4 to finish 1st and runner 8 to finish 2nd.
Pick 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the exact order. It is harder than Exacta because three positions must be right.
How it works
Example
A 4-runner Trifecta Box creates 24 combinations, because every top-three order is covered.
Pick the first four finishers in the exact order. This is the toughest single-race exotic currently supported.
How it works
Example
A 1-3-4-8 First 4 only wins if the official first four finish exactly 1, 3, 4, then 8.
Box costs can rise quickly because each possible finishing order becomes a combination.
Pick the winners of two linked races, usually nearby races in the same meeting.
How it works
Example
2 runners in leg 1 and 3 runners in leg 2 creates 6 combinations.
Pick the winners of two races nominated by the meeting. They are not always back-to-back.
How it works
Example
A meeting may set R6 and R8 as the Daily Double. You need both winners.
Pick the winners of three nominated races. This is a step up from the doubles because all three legs must land.
How it works
Example
2 runners, 1 runner and 3 runners across the three legs creates 6 combinations.
Pick the winners of four earlier races in a meeting. It gives players a four-leg option before the later Quadrella.
How it works
Example
One meeting may use R1-R4. Another may use a different early block.
Pick the winners of four nominated races. This is one of the classic AU/NZ multi-race products.
How it works
Example
2 runners in each of 4 legs creates 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 = 16 combinations.
Flexi lets one budget cover a larger set of combinations. You buy a share of the full ticket instead of paying full unit stake on every combination.
How it works
Example
If a full Quadrella costs too much, a K20 flexi budget can cover the same picks at a smaller percentage.
A few labels show up often on racing pages. This is what they mean.
Fixed-odds bets settle from the accepted price and the official result.
Single-race exotics settle from the official finishing order and final dividend, not from a fixed pre-race price.
These labels are used on linked-leg tickets.
Linked-leg tickets wait for every leg and the product dividend before settlement.
The maximum payout for a single-race single bet is K50,000 kina.
PAC Race should only show a product when the race and the supplier feed support it.
